After years of peace, tensions are beginning to rise to entirely new levels...
The Past~
As the saying goes; where there's power, there's always somebody who wants it for themselves.
The story starts in a faraway land known as Lusaria. All of the equines were united as one under the watchful eye of the ancient and mysterious Rhalteo horses, living peacefully amongst themselves. All had gone well for generations... but then one equine wanted everything for himself. Land, leadership, and ultimate power.
The problems began many years ago with a stallion named Amatius. He was a large, brutish stallion, adviser to the Leads. He had quickly climbed the ranks to power with his strength and cunning, and he planned to one day gain the leadership of the entire Valley.
But to his utter dismay, he was not chosen to be his leader's successor.
In a rage, Amatius planned and schemed in the shadows in an attempt at revenge and to yet again attempt to claim the Valley for himself and his followers. Soon a rebellion formed, led by none other than Amatius. By speaking lies and making false accusations, he gained the support of many. A war ensued, but before Amatius' rebels could launch the final blow, he and his supporters were banished from the Valley.
They traveled for weeks, possibly months.
Many were still under the impression that a great injustice was done to their leader, though some were beginning to question the truth of Amatius' words. But with the realization that they too were banished, these thoughts were quickly snuffed out even though they were true.
There was no going back now.
The Rhalteo, Guardians of Lusaria, were clearly enraged at the rash actions of Amatius. Legend said that if any one equine threatened the balance of these lands, he and his followers would be severely punished.
And so it was.
Amatius and his herd were cursed; forbidden to walk in the light of Lusaria, and banished to its shadows forever.
...That is, unless someone managed to lift the curse. There is only one way to break it, but there was only one problem... not one living equine knew how.
The Present~
Though banished to live only in the darkness of night, Amatius' followers have still managed to cause unrest in Lusaria. At first all was quiet, but things quickly turned ugly once the Shadows, as they now call themselves, began to understand their strengths and weaknesses.
With the help of their 'element', they have been ambushing the small herds scattered across Lusaria in the dead of night. Their reasoning: revenge, of course. Though none have been severely injured, who knows how long it will take before someone is.
Clearly, things are quickly getting out of hand, and tensions between the Shadows and Lusarians are at an all-time high. If things escalate any higher, someone is going to get hurt...
What will become of Lusaria now? Is a war going to become a reality? Can these raids be put to a stop before the already thin string of tolerance snaps?
And what of the Rhalteo?
The mountain peak at which they used to reside has been vacant for some time now... have the Guardians of Lusaria actually given up? Or is it something darker...?
